When I launch FFXIV from steam and try to login to my SE ID, my SE ID appears to not have any FFXIV game/account registered to it. From the previous link, I can access mog station, where I can see my FFXIV character (I clearly have a FFXIV account with my SE ID, which is the same ID entered on the first link). Only through another part of square enix website I can see my FFXI and FFXIV account. When I go on square enix website I only see FFVII and FFVIII games which I also have purchased from steam, but I do not see my FFXI or FFXIV games registered there. If I enter my cd key from steam, it says that its already registered.

The game has no way of actually flagging you as new. The same screen that asks for your CD Key also allows you to skip and log in with an existing account.
